PHOTO: JUNIOR FIRPO LETS INTERESTING DETAIL ABOUT £10M LEEDS SIGNING SLIP ON INSTAGRAM

Last month, Leeds completed the £10m signing of Marc Roca as Jesse Marsch prepared for life without Kalvin Phillips.

The 25-year-old arrived at Elland Road to a bit of fanfare, having just won the Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich while also appearing in the Champions League.

Now, Junior Firpo has let something interesting slip about the Spaniard which some Leeds fans will surely love.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

Well, it has been a while since Leeds fans last had a No.8 they could cherish.

Now, however, the shirt has been dusted off and given to Roca, as shown in Firpo’s Instagram picture – which you can see below.

Not since Vurnon Anita in 2018 have Leeds actually had a No.8 in their squad, which comes as something of a surprise given the significance of the number.

Leeds haven’t actually announced this officially yet, nor have we seen Roca wearing the number in any training photos.

However, Firpo has now let the secret out on Instagram, as the Leeds new boy can be seen wearing the No.8 on his training gear.

MARC ROCA WILL SHINE AT LEEDS

In our view, Roca’s arrival in Yorkshire has gone under the radar among neutral fans – he could well turn out to be the signing of the summer.

As aforesaid, the Spaniard boasts Champions League experience, while he has also been involving in a trophy-winning dressing room at Bayern Munich.

The German giants do not just sign anybody, so it speaks volumes that they plucked him from Espanyol in 2020.

Of course, things didn’t work out in Munich, although there is no shame in that given the vast competition for places at the Allianz Arena.

Alongside another new boy in Tyler Adams – whose arrival has just been announced – we believe Marsch has done well to find two quality midfielders, who can make a real impact in the wake of Phillips joining Pep Guardiola.
